More visitors won't fix a journey that makes people hesitate.
A slow page. An unclear offer. A confusing layout. A form that asks too much. A CTA that arrives too late. None of these looks catastrophic on its own. Together, they quietly reduce the value of every visitor you pay to acquire.
Visitors rarely leave because of one giant mistake. They leave because of a series of small moments:
- “I don't understand this.”
- “I'm not sure this is for me.”
- “I don't trust this yet.”
- “This feels like too much work.”
- “I'll come back later.”
And later often means never. The real question isn't "How do we get more people to the website?" It's "Why aren't more of the right people taking the next step?"
